At the 2013 ITTF World Tour, China Open, Super Series in Changchun, Germany Russia, Croatia in Men’s Singles and Germany, Belarus, Netherlands and Austria in Women’s Singles Event will have their representatives in the round of 16.

In the Men’s Singles Event best European player at the World Rankings Timo BOLL beat LI Ahmet of Turkey in the opening round of the main draw. His compatriot Dimitrij OVTCHAROV also successfully concluded first round with the victory over Kaii YOSHIDA of Japan. Patrick FRANZISKA joined them. He needed six games to overcome Adrien MATTENET of France.

Russia will also have three representatives. Alexey SMIRNOV beat experienced CHENG Weixing of Austria, Grigory VLASOV overcame ZHAN Jian of Singapore, whilst Alexey LIVENTSOV succeeded against Bastian STEGER of Germany. Andrej GACINA of Croatia beat Tiago APOLONIA of Portugal and European vice champion TAN Ruiwu beat Korea’s KANG Dongsoo.

European champion Viktoria PAVLOVICH overcame Neha AGGRAWAL of India to secure her place in the Round of 16. Dutch representative LI Jiao faced no difficulties in the duel against Shiho MATSUDAIRA of Japan, whilst Germany’s SHAN Xiaona be at LIU jia of Austria. However Austria will have their representative in next round. Amelie SOLJA beat KIM Mingyung of Korea.
