Romanian girls looks unbeatable in the Junior Girls Team’s event at the 56th European Youth Championships in Ostrava. Reigning champions reached quarterfinal after impressive 3:0 victory over Slovakia. 

Irina CIOBANU, Bernadette SZOCS and Bernadett BALINT overcame Eva JURKOVA, Miriama KRSIAKOVA and Simona HORVATHOVA without losing the game today. They preserved a lot of energy before tomorrow’s duel against France. Pauline CHASSELIN, Laura PFEFER and Roza SOPOSKA also left the hall earlier after 3:0 victory over Nicole TROSMAN, Shelly GELMAN and Neli SHOIFER.

Mateja JEGER and Lea RAKOVAC showed good shape in Ostrava. Turkey’s Ipek KARAHAN and Gokcenur GUNGOR could not do much to stop them, but Damla UZEL took one point after win over Paula MARKATI. Crioatia will play against Poland. Nataia BAJOR, Sandra WABIK and Agnieszka KACZMAREK showed no weak points against Dutch Kim VERMAAS , Melanie BIERDRAGER and Melissa BOURS.

Alina ARLOUSKAYA, Katsiaryna BARAVOK and Hanna PATSEYEVA eliminated hosts, Czech Republic from the duels for medals. Kristyna STEFCOVA, Karolina MYNAROVA and Katerina TOMANOVSKA took only one point.

Ana Zofija FENJVESI, Aneta MAKSUTI and Viktoria TRUZINSKI beat Italy after two matches went full distance. Giorgia PICCOLINI and Francesca TROTTI put Serbian girls under pressure, but not enough to win.

Russia and Germany will play in tomorrow’s quarters. Anna ROSSIKHINA , Ekaterina GUSEVA and Svetlana MOKHNACHEVA overcame Sweden. Nina MITTELHAM, Theresa KRAFT and Chantal MANTZ prevailed against Portugal.
