Martin ALLEGRO in another run for Nanjing

The top seed at the 2014 Road to Nanjing Series – Africa tournament Belgium’s Martin ALLEGRO clinched the top position in his Group after first day of tournament in Cairo. This is his fourth attempt to reach Youth Olympic Games. Top seed in the Girls Event Tin Tin HO of England showed no mercy in qualification stages so far with one group match remain to be played.

A quarter-finalist one month ago at the Italian Junior and Cadet Open in the Adriatic resort of Lignano Sabbiadoro ALLEGRO overcame Paixao NETO of Angola and Italy’s Luca BRESSAN. In Group 2 Elia SCHMID of Switzerland recorded two straight games wins to secure his leading position whilst in Group 3 Helshan WEERASINGHE of England emerged successfully.

After two matches Tin Tin Ho and Giorgia PICCOLIN of Italy lead at the standings in their respective groups.

At the end of proceedings one boy and one girl will have booked their place to compete in the highly prestigious Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.
