The Junior Boys and Girls Team’s Event at the 2014 Polish Junior & Cadet Open – ITTF Premium Junior Circuit concluded with upsets. Complete outsiders Belarus the no.6 seeds won the Junior Boys’ Team title in Wladyslawowo whilst Romania the fourth seeds emerged as the surprise winners of the Junior Girls’ Team event.

At the final hurdle the trio of Aleksiandr KHANIN Vadim YARASHENKA and Gleb SHAMRUK overcame the top seeded Hungarian outfit of Nandor ECSEKI Adam SZUDI amd Bence MAJOROS by three matches to nil to claim the crown.
In the penultimate round Aleksiandr KHANIN Vadim YARASHENKA and Gleb SHAMRUK posted a three-nil win against the Japan ‘B’ Team of Ryotaro OGATA Masato KAKITSUKA amd Tomo MIYAZAKI.

Girls from Romania overcame the Czech Republic the sixth seeds by three matches to one at the final hurdle to arrest the title. Backbone of the success was Bernadett BALINT the winner earlier in the year of the Junior Girls’ Singles event at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open. She beat both Karolina MYNAROVA and Krystina STEFCOVA  to set Romania on the road to victory. The one further win for the Romanians came from Diana LUPU in the second match of the fixture against Kristyna STEFCOVA; whilst for the Czech Republic the one success was recorded by Barbora KAPOUNOVA. In the third match of the contest she defeated Bianca CRISAN.

A 3:1 success in the final the same margin of victory as had been recorded against Poland ‘A’ the no.10 seeds in the quarter-finals and in opposition to Russia ‘A’ the top seeds in the penultimate round.
