TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell will have to wait at least one more year for their first title. In a remarkable play-off final of the Bundesliga in front of nearly 3 500 spectators in the sold-out Fraport Arena in Frankfurt Borussia Dusseldorf clinched the title. For the record – it was the 26th national championships trophy in club’s history.

Backbone of Borussia’s success was Timo BOLL who contributed with two points against Fulda defense aces Ruwen FILUS and WANG Xi. The third point went on Patrick BAUM’s account who beat Patrick FRANZISKA in four games.

The duel between BOLL and WANG ended after five sets and the players were escorted with the standing ovation of the audience. “It was really difficult. He has very very well played and deserved to win as well ” said Timo BOLL. “Fulda is a great opponent with great fans. It was great experience to play this final.”
