Commonwealth: three Europeans in Round of 32

Three European members will compete  in tomorrow`s Women`s Round of 32 on the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and one surely will reach the best 16 knowing that Joanna DRINKHALL (England) and Naomi OWEN (Wales) plays one against another in next stage.

Three European members will compete  in tomorrow`s Women`s Round of 32 on the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and one surely will reach the best 16 knowing that Joanna DRINKHALL (England) and Naomi OWEN (Wales) plays one against another in next stage. Third one is Kelly SIBLEY from England and her opponent will be Singaporean YE Lin who beat Northern Ireland`s Megan PHILLIPS 4:1 (11:7 4:11 11:2 11:8 11:3).

DRINKHALL went over Nigerian Offiong EDEM 4:0 (11:6 11:8 11:3 11:8) whilst OWEN overcame Rheann CHUNG from Trinidad and Tobago 4:1 (11:5 11:9 9:11 11:9 11:8).

After almost 50 minutes long fight Charlotte CAREY (Wales) was defeated by Australian Zhenhua DEDERKO 4:3 (11:1 9:11 11:8 8:11 11:8 7:11 11:7). DEDERKO will meet top seed FENG Tianwei (Singapore) in next her match. Amanda MOGEY (Northern Ireland) lost from New Zeland`s CHUNLI Li 4:0.

Kelly SIBLEY (England) expects tomorrow Singaporean YE Lin who defeated Northern Ireland`s Megan PHILLIPS 4:1 (11:7 4:11 11:2 11:8 11:3). The second seed YU Mengyu (Singapore) eliminated Tin-Tin HO (England) 4:1 (11:7 13:15 11:1 11:5 11:2) while Alice LOVERIDGE (Guernsey) lost from Canadian ZHANG in straight games.

All four England`s mixed pairs had successful day reaching Round of 16.

Men`s individual event starts tomorrow with Round of 64.
