The University of Nottingham is pleased to announce an extensive Table Tennis programme for this coming season. This outstanding opportunity is on offer for National and International players to have access to an exceptional team of coaches offering up to 15 hours a week of quality play. The programme consists of both group and one to one sessions which can focus on specific goals using techniques such as multi-ball video analysis and mentoring.

Running alongside this is a first class strength and conditioning programme access to physiotherapy as well as training camps throughout the year. The University has been consistently ranked as one of the leading Universities for table tennis and this initiative looks to build on already strong foundations. Players such as Paul McCreery Tressa Armitage and Yolanda King are already benefitting from this initiative.

The University also has a campus in China and there are opportunities for training camps overseas to further develop skills in the leading country for table tennis. In addition there is also a comprehensive sports scholarship programme offering financial support as well as academic flexibility and sports science support.

The coaching team this year is benefiting from the additional support of England National Coach Alan Cooke thanks to a partnership with Table Tennis England providing coaching support.  The full coaching team consists of Alan COOKE (England National Coach) Kelly SIBLEY (England number 1) Nicola PERRY (Director of Table Tennis and former England number 1) and Gavin EVANS (European Youth gold medallist).

Nicola PERRY stated that she is ‘delighted with this unique package of support which is totally unrivalled at University level and delivers high quality table tennis coaching in an elite environment with up to 20 International standard tables’. She also stressed the importance of the programme in ‘enabling players to fulfill their sporting potential whist gaining access to a world class education in a global 100 ranked Russell Group University’.

If you are interested in pursuing an academic pathway and are keen to improve your Table Tennis please email Alexander.Perry@nottingham.ac.uk and a taster day can be organised on one of the relevant campuses.
