Iran with brothers Nima & Noshad ALAMIYAN DARONKOLAEI is crowned winner of Men´s Team Event at the 25th Finlandia Open. A bit surprisingly Nima took care of two points by beating both Stephane OUAICHE and Gregoire JEAN.

His opening game against OUAICHE was strange: after four tough games he was suddenly leading the 5th set by 10-0! The “better brother” Noshad took the third point by beating Jean 3-0 in similar style.

However on the next table France managed to win Women’s team final against Japan 3-0. Emmanuelle LENNON and Stephanie LOEUILLETTE won 3:0 but there were five sets in two out of three games.

In Men’s singles four players are still fighting for the title on Sunday. The first semifinal pair is interesting with brothers Alamiyan from Iran. In the other semi Stephane OUAICHE will meet Japan´s Takuya JIN whose appearances so far has been very impressive. The home audience was forced to be quite disappointed after Benedek OLAH´s marginal loss to Nima ALAMIYAN with 9-11 in the 7th set. In 9-10 OLAH still had his chances but he managed to make an unforced error in an easy smash just over the net.

In women´s singles semifinals Japan´s Miyu KATO will face Antonina SAVELIEVA from Russia and the other Japanese Rei YAMAMOTO Serbia’s Anamaria ERDELJI.
