For the best World players season starts tomorow in Dubai. The 2015 World Team Cup will gather 12 teams in each of the Men’s and Women’s events; 6 continental teams 5 teams who finished in the highest positions at the ZEN-NOH 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships and one team from the host association.

The playing format is the Olympic format which will add extra interest in the lead in to Rio 2016.

Reigning champions China wants to defend the title won at home soil in 2013 so LIU Guoliang sent his best players. Germany and Japan decided to give their stars a break.

The China’s Men Team consists of the top 4 players in the latest World Ranking list: ZHANG Jike MA Long XU Xin FAN Zhendong and FANG Bo. Their main chalengers from the Old Continent team of Germany will compete without Dimitrij OVTCHAROV and Timo BOLL. In Dubai Bastian STEGER Steffen MENGEL Ruwen FILUS and Ricardo WALTHER will be on duty.

It will not be the case with European Champions. Team of Portugal arrived with top players: Marcos FREITAS Tiago APOLONIA Joao MONTEIRO and Joao GERALDO. Austria will be represented by Robert GARDOS CHEN Weixing Stefan FEGERL and Daniel HABESOHN.

In Women’s event Germany counts on Petrissa SOLJA Kristin SILBEREISEN Irene IVANCAN and Sabine WINTER whilst for Romania will play Elizabeta SAMARA Bernadette SZOCS Camelia POSTOACA and young Adina DIACONU.
