ETTU Cup winner flies to TTCLM quarter-final

Eslovs beat away Pontoise 3:2 in the Round 3 of TTCLM

Swedish club Eslovs Ai Bordtennis joined Chartres ASTT as second unbeaten team after Round 3 of 2015/16 TTCLM having successful away clash against the 2014 TTCLM champion AS Pontoise Cergy 3:2. French side was a clear favorite but tonight they had no solution to stop XU Hui who beat both Kristian KARLSSON and Marcos FREITAS. Robert SVENSSON showed again that he likes to play fifth decisive encounters defeating his compatriot KARLSSON in straight games.

At the very beginning it looked like nice overture for Pontoise`s victory because actual runner-up from LIEBHERR 2015 ITTF European Championships FREITAS easily overcame SVENSSON in straight games. But XU Hui leveled after four games against KARLSSON who missed set ball in the fourth set (10:9 10:12).

Third game also belonged to one Chinese player but this time on Pontoise side. WANG Jianjun overcame Mattias OVERSJO and brought 2:1 lead for French club. XU again evened situation defeating FREITAS who missed several points in a row in the late opening set. From that moment guest played much better and deserved win.

Finally SVENSSON prevailed against KARLSSON in straight games for 3-0 Eslov`s score and top spot in Group C.
