Laurens TROMER and Britt EERLAND champions in Netherlands

Netherlands National Championships

Britt EERLAND and Laurens TROMER clinched titles at the Netherlands National Championships in Zwolle. They are the youngest pair of winners since Danny HEISTER and Emily NOOR in 1992: EERLAND is 22-year old while TROMER is 21.

Britt EERLAND became national champion for the very first time as she beat Ana GOGORITA in the six games of the final. EERLAND won first three games but GOGORITA responded with two in a row. The title was decided in the sixth game when EERLAND controlled the score from the beginning and won 11:7.

New women`s champion was faced with a big challenge in the Round of 16 where she was three sets down against Tanja HELLE.

Men`s top seed Laurens TROMER managed to survive after full seven games of quarter-final thriller against Koen HAGERAATS being twice one set down. He proved his top seeding place in the final as she beat in five games Michel DE BOER who eliminated defending champion Ewout OOSTWOUDER in the semi-final.
