Jiri MARTINKO clinched the title in Vrnjacka Banja

2016 Serbian Junior & Cadet Open – ITTF Junior Circuit

 

Jiri MARTINKO of Czech Republic clinched the title in Junior Boys Singles Event at the 2016 Serbian Junior & Cadet Open – ITTF Junior Circuit in Vrnjacka Banja. Maki SHIOMI of Japan emerged victoriously in the Junior Girls Singles Event.

 

In the final of the Boys Event Jiri MARTINKO beat his compatriot Patrick KLOS in six games (7-11 8-11 11-9 11-7 9-11 6-11). Rashed SANAD of Bahrain and Mohammed ABDULWAHHAB of Qatar clinched bronze.

 

In Junior Boy’s Doubles Event Filip RADOVIC of Montenegro and SANAD succeeded to the title. In the final they overcame KLOS and MARTINKO on straight games (11-7 11-9 11-7). Host nation representatives Aleksa ADAMOVIC and Niksa MARTINOVIC as well as Bulgaria’s pairings of Stefan TODOROV and Konstantin VATOV won bronze.

 

SHIOMI overcame Izabela LUPULESKU of Serbia in the final of the Junior Girls Singles Event (11-6 11-5 11-5 11-6). LUPULESKU prevailed against Tijana JOKIC of Serbia in semis whilst Japan’s player overcame Ilka DOVAL of Norway.

 

In Doubles LUPULESKU clinched gold with Sabina SURJAN. They beat Andreea CLAPA and Mihaela PLEASU of Romania in final (11-1 13-11 11-1). Romania’s pairings previously overcame Tijana JOKIC and Dragana VIGNJEVIC and LUPULESKU and SURJAN beat Margo DEGRAEF and Ilika DOVAL (Belgium Norway).
