TTCLM Round 4: Reigning champion books quarter-final berth

Three out of eight Round 4 matches were held tonight: ESLOVS AI BORDTENNIS – AS PONTOISE CERGY 2:3 TTC OSTRAVA 2016 – BOGORIA GRODZISK MAZOWIECKI 0:3 KST ENERGA-MANEKIN TORUN – CHARTRES ASTT 0:3

 

Reigning TTCLM champion AS PONTOISE CERGY booked quarter-final berth as they beat away ESLOVS AI BORDTENNIS 3:2 in the reprise of the 2015/16 TTCLM final. French side now has 4-0 score in the Group B while Swedish team stays at 1-3. Chinese XU Hui as many times before provided two points for host team whilst Pontoise had a good team work as each its player contributed by one victory: Marcos FREITAS Mattias KARLSSON and Niagol STOYANOV.

 

STOYANOV brought crucial point to his side defeating Daniel KOSIBE after full five games. The score was set at 2:1 for Pontoise in that moment. Then XU overcame FREITAS in four games to level at 2:2. Portuguese managed to reverse from 6:10 to 11:10 in the fourth set but Chinese responded by three points in a row. These two players met sixth time in last six months (3-3 mutual score).

The ultimate clash confronted two Swedish players 14-year-old talent Truls MOREGARDH and runner-up of recent 2016 Swedish Open Mattias KARLSSON who won in straight games.

 

BOGORIA GRODZISK MAZOWIECKI beat away TTC OSTRAVA 2016 repeating the same score as two months ago at home – 3:0. Singaporean GAO Ning overcame Aleksandar KARAKASEVIC in straight games of the opening clash as first close set determined the whole match.

 

It could say that the second match was decisive one. Actually the fifth set between Petr KORBEL and Daniel GORAK. Guest needed seven match balls to conclude this super intense clash while host missed two match balls (13:12 16:15). After all GORAK won 3:2 (7:11 11:5 8:11 11:8 19:17).

 

Former Angers`and Borussia`s player Panagiotis GIONIS had an easy job against Tomas TREGLER in the third match in Ostrava securing victory to his side. Bogoria now has 2-2 score while Ostrava has no any win.

 

The 2012/13 TTCLM runner-up CHARTRES ASTT improved its score to 3-1 in the Group D as they beat away KST ENERGA-MANEKIN TORUN 3:0. It was one of the fastest victories in the ongoing TTCLM season so far bearing in mind that all three encounters were finished in straight games.
