Rajko Gommers and LI Jie Dutch National Champions

The players of the national team clinched both titles at the Dutch National Championships. Rajko GOMMERS won his first national title defeating Laurens TROMER in seven games. LI Jie won her second national title defeating Yana TIMINA 4-2 in the final.

 

LI Jie only lost 2 games during the National Championiships both in the final. In earlier rounds the defender defeated Tanja HELLE Sanne de HOOP and Kim VERMAAS. Yana TIMINA defeated Ana GOGORITA in the semi finales for a place in the final.

 

In the men’s tournament Rajko GOMMERS defeated both Ewout OOSTWOUDER (semi final) and Laurens TROMER. Earlier he also defeated Koen HAGERAATS and Patrick OEIJ. Defending champion Laurens TROMER defeated Casper ter LUUN Martin KHATCHANOV and Barry WIJERS on his way to the final.

 

Earlier in the tournament Rajko GOMMERS claimed his second mixed doubles title with Kim VERMAAS defeating Barry WIJERS and Carla NOUWEN in the final. The title in men’s doubles was for Laurens TROMER and Ewout OOSTWOUDER who defeated 2016 champions Barry WIJERS and Martin KHATCHANOV. For the second year in a row Yana TIMINA and Tanja HELLE claimed the women’s doubles title defeating Brenda VONK and Tali Cohen.
