UMMC defends its title in Russia

Verkhnaya Pyshma`s side beat twice actual TTCLM champion Orenburg

 

UMMC successfully defended its crown in the Russian Premier League as they beat actual TTCLM champion Fakel Gazprom Orenburg. Final tournament of the championships was held in the Russian city of Sochi gathering the best eight clubs.

 

In the semi-final Fakel Gazprom beat twice 3:0 Kazan while UMMC did it same against Kuban. UMMC won both final clashes first one 3:2 and second 3:1. Chinese FANG Bo current World No. 11 contributed with four points from four games defeating both Orenburg`s stars Dimitrij OVTCHAROV (World No. 5) and Jun MIZUTANI (No. 6).

 

 “We beat champions of TTCLM and it`s great achievement. This is our second title in a row. Last year we beat them with MIZUTANI in our line-up but now he was on the other side” stated after the final coach and manager of winning side Zoran PRIMORAC.

 

World No. 28 Alexander SHIBAEV secured very important point in the second final clash as he overcame OVTCHAROV in five games.
