Darko JORGIC and Peter HRIBAR booked the medals

BUTTERFLY Under 21 European Championships

On the penultimate day of the BUTTERFLY Under 21 European Championships the medal winners in Men’s Doubles Event are already known. To the semi final progressed: Darko JORGIC and Peter HRIBAR of Slovenia Antonino AMATO and Daniele PINTO of Italy Denis IVONIN and Vladimir SIDORENKO of Russia and Tibor SPANIK and Adam BRAT of Slovakia.

 

Darko JORGIC and Peter HRIBAR overcame top seeded pairings Cristian PLETEA and Rares SIPOS of Romania in straight games whilst Aliaksandr KHANIN and Tomasz KOTOWSKI lost against Antonino AMATO and Daniele PINTO. Denis IVONIN and Vladimir SIDORENKO beat Jiri MARTINKO and Patrik KLOS of Czech Republic 3:0 and Tibor SPANIK and Adam BRAT overcame Andreas LEVENKO of Austria and Andrei PUTUNTICA of Moldova.

 

Cristian PLETEA and Rares SIPOS prevailed against URSU Vladislav of Moldova and Maciej KOLODZIEJCZYK of Austria but not without great fight. Tibor SPANIK and Adam BRAT of Slovakia overcame no. two seeds Florian CNUDDE and Thibaut DARCIS of Belgium.

 

Ioannis SGOUROPOULOS of Greece and Artur ABUSEV of Russia are out from the Round of 16; Antonino AMATO and Daniele PINTO beat them in four games. Darko JORGIC and Peter HRIBAR of Slovenia showed no weak sport against Matteo MUTTI of Italy and Laurens DEVOS of Belgium on their way to the quarters.  Aliaksandr KHANIN of Belarus and Tomasz KOTOWSKI of Poland beat Samuel KULCZYCKI and Maciej KUBIK of Poland in full distance match.

 

Denis IVONIN and Vladimir SIDORENKO overcame Simon SODERLUND and Per SANDSTROM of Sweden. Andreas LEVENKO of Austria and Andrei PUTUNTICA of Moldova beat Aviv BEN-ARI and Mathan SIMON of Israel whilst Jiri MARTINKO and Patrik KLOS prevailed against Tobias HIPPLER and Nils HOHMEIER of Germany.
