Czech Open: Dimitrij OVTCHAROV runner-up in Olomouc

2019 ITTF World Tour Czech Open Olomouc (August 20-25). Optimistic results of German players a week before the LIEBHERR 2019 ITTF – European Table Tennis Championships

German player Dimitrij OVTCHAROV finished second at the 2019 ITTF World Tour Czech Open in Olomouc as he lost to Chinese Taipei’s LIN Yun-Ju who overcame OVTCHAROV‘s compatriot Timo BOLL in the semi-final clash. LIN has been extended to full distance by BOLL while the final encounter was concluded after five games.

OTCHAROV prevailed against Brazil’s Hugo CALDERANO in six games of the semi-finals. Three German players reached quarter-final stage (OVTCHAROV beat Patrick FRANZISKA) so it’s good news for the German National Team a week before the LIEBHERR 2019 ITTF – European Table Tennis Championships in the French city of Nantes (September 3-8).

CHEN Xingtong of China is the Women’s Singles winner as she overcame Japan’s Miu HIRANO after full seven games. HIRANO who beat her compatriot Kasumi ISHIKAWA (no. 1 seed) in the semis was three games down against CHEN but managed to tie the score at 3:3.
