2019/20 Table Tennis Champions League Men quarter-finals leg 2
Champions from 2018 Borussia Dusseldorf justified their status and secured the place in the semifinal of the Table Tennis Champions League Men. After straight matches victory in Denmark in the opening leg they needed full five matches to beat Roskilde Bordtennis BTK61 at home.
In the opening game the former Dusseldorf player Michael MAZE had little advantage against Ricardo WALTHER but Germany’s player was better in the finishing stage. After he won the two opening games 11:9 and 11:7 Ricardo was in full speed in third game by making 8:0. It did not take long before he finished the match and sealed club’s place in semis.
ZHAI Yujia avenged his last week’s defeat against Anton KALLBERG in superior style and he dominated in the match against Kristian KARLSSON to win both points for Roskilde Bordtennis BTK61.
Timo BOLL in the third match was at the top of his game against Bojan TOKIC leaving no room for Slovenia’s player to get into the game. In decisive match KALLBERG played very close duel against MAZE but eventually sealed the match in four games.
In the semifinal Borussia Dusseldorf will play against the winner of the tomorrow’s match Fakel Gazprom Orenburg vs. GV Hennebont TT (Feb 14 13:00). Russia’s side won the opening leg 3:1.
