Champions from Orenburg reached the semis

Table Tennis Champions League Men quarterfinal

 

Fakel Gazprom Orenburg winners of the 2019 edition of the Table Tennis Champions League Men confirmed their place in the semifinal. In both legs they overcame French GV Hennebont TT by same margin 3:1. Russia’s TTSC UMMC overcame Poland’s KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki in other quarterfinal match and FC Saarbrucken beat Post SV Mühlhausen 1951 e.V. to secure their progress to the next round.

 

TTSC UMMC will meet Borussia Dusseldorf in the semifinal whilst Fakel Gazprom Orenburg will play against FC Saarbrucken.

 

 

Sheng Peng FAN gave guests from Hennebont good start with straight games wins over Vladimir SAMSONOV. The second match also commenced in favor of guests. Belgium’s Cedric NUYTINCK took the opening game by from Alexey LIVENTSOV but Russia’s player responded fast. The power in the match swung from one side to another before two last game finished by narrow margin.

 

Dimitrij OVTCHAROV against Quentin ROBINOT confirmed his supremacy as well as Vladimir SAMSONOV who recovered from the opening match defeat to overcame Cedric NUYTINCK.

 

Croatia’s Andrej GACINA led TTSC UMMC to the victory against KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki. The return leg was not as dramatic as the opening one when all four encounters went full distance but there were no lack of suspense in Verkhnaya Pyshma tonight.

 

Jonathan GROTH went full distance against Marek BADOWSKI and despite the result and straight games victory for Andrej GACINA against Panagiotis GIONIS it was very close encounter.

 

After full distance opening leg FC Saarbrucken needed one match less to overcame Post SV Muhlhausen at home. SHANG Kun won both his matches whilst Darko JORGIC prevailed in five games duel against Lubomir JANCARIK. Ovidiu IONESCU beat Patrick FRANZISKA and lost to SHANG.
