Camille LUTZ had her moment of magic

In front of home crowd Camille LUTZ of France clinched the title in the Junior Girls Event at the TAMANNEFTEGAS European Youth Top 10 in Tours. In the closing moments of the event Elena ZAHARIA of Romania pushed herself into the second position at the medal rostrum whilst in photo-finish after the defeat against ZAHARIA Vlada VORONINA of Russia lost her position at the medal rostrum. Hana ARAPOVIC of Croatia finished third.

Camille LUTZ lost only one match at the tournament but it proved to be very dangerous one- she lost to VORONINA.

“It was very close match that went on her side at the end. It proved tho be very important one because in the last round I could of lost my title despite the 8 wins I had. However that is the magic of this tournament. You have to play every mach to the maximum you never knows which match will be crucial ” said LUTZ.

LUTZ learnt it hard way.

“I played at the Top 10 two years ago. It was my only appearance in the cadet category. On the opening day I had three wins everything was perfect. Then I lost one on the second day and everything changed for worst. I ended with few defeats in the row. That is how I know you have to win every match here ” explained LUTZ.

In Tours Camille was challenged few times.

“It was very difficult to play against KLEE. It was the last match on the second day; I was very tired. I had to push myself to play over the limits ” said LUTZ.

LUTZ won bronze in Varazdin at the European Youth Championships in singles and gold in mixed doubles this year.
