Michael MAZE lead Roskilde to the victory

Michael MAZE was the backbone of the victory that Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 recorded in the opening leg of the TAMANNEFTEGAS Europe Cup Men quarterfinal against KS DARTOM BOGORIA Grodzisk Mazowiecki. In thrilling five matches hosts prevailed.

Jens LUNDQUIST lost the opening encounter against Panagiotis GIONIS in five games (12:10 5:11 11:8 2:11 1:6) but it was Maze who leveled the score after win over Milosz REDZIMSKI 3:1 (7:11 11:9 11:7 11:6).

Pawel SIRUCEK overcame Mikkel HINDERSSON 0:3 (6:11 3:11 9:11) but LUNDQUIST pushed for fifth match after victory over REDZIMSKI (11:8 11:7 11:7).

MAZE and GIONIS met in last match which ended after decisive game (11:7 9:11 11:9 2:11 6:4).

Second leg will be played in Poland next Friday.
