1. FC Saarbrücken TT started in big style

1.FC Saarbrücken TT commenced their journey in the Champions League Men with the victory. In Group D they overcame French AS Pontoise Cergy TT. In previous match French club beat Roskilde Bordetennis BTK 61.

Darko JORGIC overcame Marcos FREITAS in the opening match (6:11 11:2 16:14 10:12 6:3). Patrick FRANZISKA recorded two victories over Emmanuel LEBESSON (11:4 11:8 11:8) and over FREITAS (13:11 12:10 11:6). CHO Seung Min won one point for AS Pontoise Cergy TT. He beat Cedric NUYTINCK (11:8 11:3 11:6).

“This is very important win for us ;it is important to start our Group with the victory ” said Darko JORGIC. “ I had a rough start and I had to go full distance FREITAS. The opening match always brings extra advantage if you win it and we both fought hard for it. Patrick FRANZISKA performed at top level and outplayed Emmanuel LEBESSON in fantastic match.”

CHO Seung Min victory over Cedric NUYTINCK did not came as a surprise.

“CHO did not open any space for Cedric to create a chance. He played very aggressive and error free. Cedric could not find the answer for his quick balls. At the end Patric brought stunning performance against Fraitas. He was 6:10 down and managed to win the second game. His two victories in straight matches could be very important at the end. From this stage only group winners goes to the semis. After this win we are looking forward next duel against Roskilde Bordetennis BTK 61 ” stated JORGIC.
