French Saint-Quentin TT upset the favorites

In the Group D in the Champions League Women French Saint-Quentin TT overcame Linz AG Froschberg in straight matches

Camille LUTZ beat Suthasini SAWETTABUT (11:6 11:4 6:11 14:12); Daniela MONTEIRO-DODEAN overcame Sofia POLCANOVA (12:10 10:12 12:10 14:12) and Sarah DE NUTTE prevailed against Yulia PROKHOROVA (11:6 11:6 11:9).

“We are so happy and now we are celebrating with the people from the club. It is nice evening for us. It is crazy that we won in straight matches. WE never expected to be like this ” said Sarah DE NUTTE.

Sarah reported what happened in the match:” Camille LUTZ had a very good start against Thailand’s Suthasini SAWETTABUT and she put her under severe pressure from the very beginning. SAWETTABUT struggled with the Camille’s speed. Then Daniela played outsdanding match against Europe’s no one player POLCANOVA. I knew I had to finish the match with my encounter because they could easily come back. I remained focused and I fought for each ball. Our tactic proved good and I just kept on going and won 3:0. I am happy that I contributed and that everyone from the team had one victory.”

It is Saint-Quentin ‘s second victory out of two matches; in previous match they overcame TT Moravsky Krumlov.

“That is little bit funny. We beat Linz 3:0 but we were 0:2 down against Moravsky Krumlov. Our coach won the third match and recovered. That’s make this victory tonight even more strange and unexpected. Now our expectations are even higher and we hope we will win the Group ” said DE NUTTE.
