FC Saarbrücken TT sealed the Group phase with the win

The last matches in Champions Legue Men were played today. In Group D Germany’s 1. FC Saarbrücken TT justified their status and secured the place in semi final as the winner of the Group.They overcame Roskilde Bordtennis BTK. In Group B GV Hennebont TT lost to SPG FELBERMAYR Wels.

Darko JORGIC overcame Michael MAZE (11:8 11:7 11:7) and Cedric NUYTINCK beat Mikkel HINDERSSON (11:9 11:8 7:11 11:6) before Mathias HÜBGEN lost to Alan BENTSEN (10:12 13:11 2:11 9:11). Peter HRIBAR overcame HINDERSSON in the last match.

“We commenced very well with two good wins over MAZE and HINDERSSON. We had a little advantage since LUNDQUIST was not in line up due the illness. Since it was the last round we seized the opportunity to put two young players from second team to feel the fire. HÜBGEN played well he created few chances and Peter made a point to finish the match after good game. He was very confident ” said JORGIC.

In last match in Group B SPG FELBERMAYR Wels beat GV Hennebont TT. Nandor ECSEKI overcame WANG Xin (11:6 11:3 11:8) Andreas LEVENKO beat Nandor ECSEKI (11:6 11:3 11:8). Andreas LEVENKO beat Sasha GILLEN (11:5 11:3 11:4) and Anders LIND beat Maciek KOLODZIEJCYK (11:4 9:11 11:6 11:6). LEVENKO also beat WANG (11:7 10:12 11:5 11:5).
