SGOUROPOULOS retained the national title GERASIMATOU won two in singles and doubles

Ioannis SGOUROPOULOS in men’s singles and Ioanna GERASIMATOU in women’s singles are crowned champions of Greece for 2023. The National Championships which was hosted for the first time in Amyntaio Florina and achieved competitive and organizational success the player of Olympiacos retained the title. In the final he defeated Tassos RINIOTIS (Olympiakos) with 4-2 games.

In women’ s event AEK’s player won the first gold medal in her career in the singles at the National championship while a little earlier she had already celebrated the first place in the women’s doubles with teammate Konstantina PARIDI of Panathinaikos. In the singles final GERASIMATOU defeated Aliki KIOUFI of Olympiakos 4-2. SGOUROPOULOS was number 2 in seeding and GERASIMATOU was seeded at the position no. 4.

In the men’s doubles the brothers Giorgos and Konstantinos KONSTANTINOPOULOS of Panathinaikos won the title for the 6th time while on Saturday 25/03 the mixed doubles was completed where Giorgos STAMATOUROS and Malamatenia PAPADIMITRIOU of Olympiakos celebrated their win. The competitions were organized by H.T.T.F. in cooperation with the Region of Western Macedonia and the municipality of Amyntaio and with the support of the club A.S.E.A. Sarises Florina.

Yesterday (26/03) was special for Kostas PAPAGEORGIOU firstly because he celebrated his 44th birthday and secondly because he completed exactly two years at the helm of the administration of Greek federation. He was treated to sweets for his birthday also received warm wishes from everyone for both and at the end of the event he had a pleasant surprise from the organizers who had bought him a birthday cake.
