Two more chances for Malmo 2023

The 2023 European Teams Championships is fast approaching and the excitement is building as the Stage 2 Tournament draws near. From Friday May 5th to Sunday May 7th 2023 the Croatian Table Tennis Association under the authority of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) will organize the Stage two tournament at the NŠD Gradski vrt in Osijek Croatia.

The men’s teams will include Poland Hungary Serbia Ukraine Spain Finland Greece Italy Turkey Netherlands Luxembourg Switzerland Norway Lithuania Israel Latvia and Ireland. The women’s teams will consist of Austria Italy Netherlands Turkey Croatia England Wales Greece Belgium Bulgaria Lithuania Finland Israel and Bosnia Herzegovina.

In the men’s tournament 11 teams from the Stage 2 tournament will qualify for the Final Stage in Malmo while 10 teams will qualify for the women’s tournament. The playing system will consist of 5 groups with the winner and runner-up of each group qualifying for the final stage making a total of 10 spots. Five third-positioned teams will play PLAY-OFF for the remaining spot.

The women’s tournament will consist of 14 teams in four groups with the winner and runner-up of each group qualifying for the final stage making eight spots. Four third-positioned teams will play for two remaining spots (play-off matches) and the winners of the play-off matches will qualify for the Final Stage.
