KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki kick off with the win

KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki kicked off the Champions League Men’s 2023/2024 season by facing the Czech champions. In the opening match of Round two the team coached by Tomasz REDZIMSKI triumphed over HB Ostrov z.s. with a score of 3-1.

The duel began with a tightly contested match between Milosz REDZIMSKI and David REITSPIES. The Czech representative narrowly won the first two opening games before REDZIMSKI mounted a comeback to secure the overall victory.

Both REDZIMSKI and the Panagiotis GIONIS defeated Pavel SIRUCEK while Takuya JIN lost to Tomas TREGLER.

“We anticipate a tough match because our opponent is very strong and doesn’t give up easily. We’re in a challenging group so we can’t afford to make any easy mistakes. It will be quite a challenge to secure the top spot in the group but our primary goal is to advance in the Europe Cup. We managed to create a slight advantage in the first leg and now we’re also aiming for an upset in the match against Ulm ” said GIONIS.

“At the beginning REDZIMSKI was under pressure and found himself trailing 0-2. However when he made a comeback and secured the win it boosted our confidence. My match against SIRUCEK wasn’t easy because we had played together in the same club for some time and faced each other numerous times. I knew I had to stay focused. While he may not excel in a defensive style I had to perform at my best to beat him. I won the second game with a bit of luck but overall I’m very satisfied with my performance and winning in straight games. I controlled the game very well.”

“JIN entered the match after a two-hour break without a warm-up as we didn’t have a break and it showed in his gameplay. He was out of rhythm. However Milosz played exceptionally well. He delivered one of his best performances and didn’t give SIRUCEK a chance.”

In the previous season Bogoria was also placed in the same group as HB Ostrov. In the Grodzisk hall the Czech team won 3:2 but the Polish side managed to secure a 3:1 victory in the away game.

In addition to these two teams the German powerhouse TTC Neu Ulm is part of Group C in the Champions League. Only the group stage winner will earn a spot in the Final Four tournament. The second-placed team will participate in the European Cup from the quarter-finals.
