Teams Set for Finals at the European Youth Series Serbian Open in Niš

The Teams Event at the European Youth Series Serbian Open in Niš has reached its final stage after two days of intense competition in the Group Stages for the Under-15 and Under-13 Boys’ and Girls’ categories. With only the finals remaining the teams are gearing up for a thrilling conclusion in all four events.

After nine rounds of matches in the Under-15 Boys’ Teams Event Germany’s Tien Nghia PHONG and Jonathan GAISER finished undefeated securing the top spot in the standings. Following them in second place was Denmark’s second team consisting of Emil HASSELBALCH and Malik SEVERINSEN. Serbia’s team represented by Nikola MILADINOVIĆ and Vukašin UŠLJEBRKA ended the group stage in third place.

In the Under-15 Girls’ Teams Event Serbia’s Teodora SUDZUM and Maja VANJO delivered an outstanding performance winning against all eight teams in their group to finish at the top. Tomorrow they will compete for the gold against Croatia’s Lana BENKO and Klara KONČAR. Serbia’s second team with Dejana DRAGOLJEVIĆ and Slađana KNEŽEVIĆ finished in third place.

In the Under-13 Boys’ Teams Event Serbia 1 featuring David ČAPANDA and Branko DRAGOLJEVIĆ will face Bulgaria’s Stefan BONCHEV and Lachezar HRISTOV in the final. Serbia 1 already overcame Bulgaria earlier in the group stage as well as Montenegro and Serbia 2 and 3. Bulgaria despite losing to Serbia managed to take a set in their 1-2 defeat. Serbia 2 composed of Vanja MIHAILOVIĆ and Boris PANTOVIĆ finished in third place.

In the Under-13 Girls’ Teams Event Germany’s Lotta ROTHFUSS and Ksenja POZNIC secured the top position after eight matches. Croatia’s Sara RIVETTI and Karla IVCIC are second. Slovakia’s Bianka BACSOVÁ and Barbora GUASSARDO MELISA finished third.
