Romania and France split the Old Continent at ISTANBUL EYC  




25/07/2010 - In a fantastic atmosphere the 53rd ISTANBUL Metropolitan Municipality European Youth Championships came to an end. Perfect organization and fantastic duels marked another edition of EYC. The most successful nation at the championships was Romania who won 6 gold medals, one silver and two bronze, but the nation with the most medals is France. They won four gold, three silver and five bronze medals. Germany follows with two gold, one silver and six bronze medals.

Globally Romania and France split the continent. Romania had the most medals in girl’s events whilst France dominated in boys. However the one for the Juniors were reserved for other nations. Patrick FRANZISKA finally won the Junior Singles title, whilst as a big surprise Britt EERLAND of Netherlands emerged as a winner of Junior Singles Event.

In cadet category shined Leonardo MUTTI of Italy and Bernadette SZOCZ of Romania.
