14/12/2008 - The new president of French Table Tennis Federation is Alain DUBOIS who was elected this morning at FFTT General Assembly. The former chairman at FFTT Gerard VELTEN had decided to retire after 8 years and two successive mandates. The 27 new elected members proposed the candidature of Alain DUBOIS, at the position of president. Finally President DUBOIS was elected with more than 91% votes.
The ETTU (European Table Tennis Union) is the only authority recognised by the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) for governing and developing the table tennis sport in Europe. According to the latest information, more than 4 million people are playing competition table tennis in the territory controlled by the ETTU. With its 56 Member Associations, the ETTU is the largest of the 6 Continental Table Tennis Federations recognised by the ITTF.
