WORLD CADET CHALLENGE

Tokyo to host the 8th edition of the ITTF Cadet Challenge

The ITTF Cadet Challenge was successfully introduced in 2002. It’s a quality competition for the cadet age level with direct representation for the continental union instead of the national associations.

In 2009 the Cadet Challenge event, together with the ITTF Junior Circuit Finals, will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from the 19th to the 25th October. The teams competing in this challenging annual event will be: Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, Pan America and the host nation, Japan.

Europe is sending its best squadron to the land of the rising sun: Petrissa SOLJA (GER), Yana NOSKOVA (RUS), Bernadette SZOCS (ROU) and Britt EERLAND (NED) will represent the old continent in the girls’ team, while the cadet boys’ team will be composed of Simon GAUZY (FRA), Hampus SODERLUND (SWE), Philipp KUIMOV (RUS) and Emilien VANROSSOMME (BEL), who will  all atempt to reach the first four positions in the respective single events, which would guarantee them the first  four passports for the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010.

The Head Coaches on duty will be Dana WEBER (GER) for girls and Mr. Jarek Kolodziejczyk (AUT) for boys.
