Pleasant goodbye in Cartagena: "Forbet was a worthy rival" 

13/04/2009 - The curtain is draw on this seasons ETTU Cup German's Pluderhausen and Spanish Himoinsa Cartagena won the trophy after exciting finish of the competition. It was third title for German, whilst Spaniards celebrated in the final for the first time. Himoinsa survived the first leg defeat 2:3 and halted Polish Forbet Tarnobrzeg in their second attempt to win the final.

But great rivals after the match shared pleasant moments at the dinner in Cartagena alongside with ETTU Vice President Jean Francois KAHN and match umpires. "In this season ETTU Cup had three Champions: KTS Forbet, USO Mondeville and UCAM Himoinsa Cartagena. I congratulate to the KTS Forbet, because Polish side was a worthy rival. Last season the Polish Team won in Cartagena in semifinal and this time it was our turn. It is just a part of the sport. Also, I congratulated and gave thanks to our players, emphasizing that they are great professionals who had overcome all the difficulties this year in pursuit of "our dream". Also at the dinner Mr. NECEK congratulate to our team as deserved winner and Mr. KAHN congratulate both teams for the fair-play said that the final was a great spectacle and a that it was good day for table tennis",  said coach Enrique PERES MIRAS.
