Sweden’s Jon PERSSON repeated fine form he had shown last month. At the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour German Open in Bremen, in the third round of the Men’s Singles Qualification event, the Scandinavian player beat Croatia’s Andrej GACINA. Currently listed at no.23 on the Men’s World Rankings, the Croatian was the highest rated player in the first phase of the Men’s Singles event in Bremen. Jon PERSSON, named at no.94 on the Men’s World Rankings, won in five games (11-8, 11-3, 11-8, 6-11, 11-5).

No less than six players who have stood on the top step of the medal podium bid farewell with France the country to suffer the most. Abdel-Kader SALIFOU, Damien ELOI and Christophe LEGOUT are out, as well as Adrian CRISAN of Romania, Germany’s Ricardo WALTHER and Hong Kong’s JIANG Tianyi.

Hunor SZOCS, who had beaten Frenchman Emmanuel LEBESSON, suffered defeat at the hands of Poland’s Jakub DYJAS in a close seven games encounter, whilst Frenchman, Adrien MATTENET was beaten by the defensive skills of the Slovak Republic’s Wang Yang.

Irene IVANCAN, Kristin SILBEREISEN, Nadine BOLLMEIER and Petrissa SOLJA all emerged successful with Nadine BOLLMEIER being the player to keep the German fans on the very edges of their seats. She emerged successful by the very narrowest of margins against Hungary’s Dora MADARASZ.
