Five Europeans in semi finals in Qatar

European’s dominated at the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour, Qatar Open (Super) in Doha. In Men’s Singles Event three players from Old Continent booked their place in the semi final, whilst in Women’s Singles two European ladies progresse

European’s dominated at the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour, Qatar Open (Super) in Doha. In Men’s Singles Event three players from Old Continent booked their place in the semi final, whilst in Women’s Singles two European ladies progressed to the penultimate stage.

Top seeded Dimitrij OVTCHAROV of Germany secured the place in top four after thrilling seven games duel against JUNG Youngsik of Korea. He will meet Marcos FREITAS of Portugal in Top 16 final re-run. FREITAS overcame Daniel HABESOHN of Austria in quarters. In lower half of the draw Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus overcame Joao MONTEIRO of Portugal. CHUANG Chih-Yuan of Taipei beat Robert GARDOS of Austria in another seven games match.

Germany will have another representative in semis. In Women’s singles HAN Ying will meet top seed FENG Tianwei of Singapore. Elizabeta SAMARA of Romania halted the progress of Germany’s WU Jiaduo to secure her place in semi final.
