Selection camp in Saarbrucken concluded in great atmosphere after hard work in fantastic conditions. 27 young players, four sparring partners and 15 coaches successfully finished the program which included trainings, experts analyzes, coach meetings, testing and finally tournament. The list of the players who will be involved in the future actions as a part of the Eurotalents program is also made.

“We had 27 players, nine girls and 18 boys, between 10 and 14 years. We also had four sparing partners from Saaralnd region,” stated ETTU Development Manager Neven CEGNAR.

The camp was conducted under guidance of CEGNAR and Tamara BOROS. “The conception of the camp is done the way all the coaches were fully involved. We had trainings each day from 9.30 to 12.15, 4 to 6.30 PM and evening trainings from 8 to 9.30. The exception was Wednesday when we did not have evening training. On Thursday we had big anthropometric and motoric test, whilst the weekend was reserved for tournament. “

In Germany coaches had three very important meeting in order to determine the best possible course for future development of Eurotalents project and strategy of development of table tennis in Europe. They also analyzed the results of the anthropometric and motoric tests.

The entire program was made on the basis of ten trainings, one anthropometric and motoric test conducted by Dr. Miran KONDRIC and dr Goran MUNIVRANA and tournament with two events. We had two groups of players: born 2004, 2003 and 2002 and the group born from 1999 to 2001. The players were divided in two groups in the early stage of the tournament. In both Events all players played against each other in the Group and then additional challenge match against the player ranked at the same position from the other group.

The evaluation and final selection for the further ETTU Projects has been done by coaches Istvan KORPA, Richard PRAUSE, Tamara BOROS and Neven CEGNAR.
