Both Group A matches of MECL Round 2 were finished with comfortable wins of visitors: Roskilde Bordtennis – Olimpia Unia Grudziadz 0:3, AS Pontoise Cergy – Fakel Gazproma Orenburg 0:3.

Olimpia Unia Grudziadz beat away Roskide 3:0 in first Group A Round 2 match of 2014/15 Men`s European Champions League. It was first victory for Polish club, whilst Danish side now has 0-2 score.

Allan BENTSEN was unique from his side able to resist to Olimpia`s player. He had a lead after three sets in game against WANG Yang, but lost in five sets.

Other two encounters were ended in straight games. World`s no 36 Yoshida KAII defeated Finn TUGWELL in second clash, while Bartos SUCH overcame Claus NIELSEN.

The remake of last MECL final was held in France where Orenburg easily beat Pontoise 3:0. French club shocked Vladimir SAMSONOV & Co. in battle for 2013/14 title and that was the reason why Russian champion looked like so motivated.

Vladimir SAMSONOV defeated Marcos FREITAS in four games of opening clash. These two players concluded last final`s no. 1 leg, when Portuguese secured victory for his side.

Dimitrij OVTCHAROV overcame WANG Jian Jun, also in four sets. First two sets was tight, but in other two German controlled the game from the very first moment.

Alexey SMIRNOV, the best no. 3 MECL player in last couple of seasons, confirmed Orenburg`s win, beating Peter FRANZ. Former Euro Top 12 winner had special motivation, knowing that in last season`s final lost both his games (one in each of two legs), something that was not happen before.

Next Friday in Round 3 Roskilde plays in Orenburg, against two times MECL winner. Polish club will meet on its soil current MECL champion AS Pontoise Cergy.
