In the second round KARLSSON overcame Panagiotis GIONIS of Greece. European bronze medalists, seeded no. 11 in Sweden, suffered straight games defeat.

SILBEREISEN will; meet YU Mengyu of Singapore, whilst HAN will play against YU Fu of Polrtugal. Yu overcame LIN Chia-Hui of Taipei tonight. In all-European duel, Dora MADARASZ of Hungary overcame Matilda EKHOLM of Sweden. In Round of 16 she will meet LIU JIa of Austria who beat WU JIaduo of Germany.
