In memory of Andrzej GRUBBA, the most outstanding Polish table tennis player and one of the legends of the Polish sport, four great players played at the tournament last weekend. Jean-Michel SAIVE of Belgium clinched the title by beating Jorgen PERSSON of Sweden in the final – 3:2.

The event was organized at the main stage of the Opera and Philharmonic hall. The tournament gathered Olympic medalists and World Champions SAIVE, PERSSON, Frenchman Jean-Philippe GATIEN and Poland’s Leszek KUCHARSKI.

In the semi final, SAIVE beat KUCHARSKI, whilst PERSSON overcame GATIEN.

Among the guests were the members of Andrzej GRUBBA family.

“Such moments are very touching. At one hand this event commemorates my husband, but the other it is still hard to accept he is not any more among us,” said Lucyna GRUBBA.
