Semi finals were on the schedule today, on the penultimate day of the competition at the first European Veterans Team Championships in Almeira. Teams from Russia booked five out of six finals. The only one they missed is in the men’s 60-64 category.

In the Women 40 – 59 Category Russia’s Spartak Moscow with Marina VASILYEVA, Larisa LAVRUKHINA and Elena CHUNIKHINA beat Latvia 1 in straight matches, whilst Bulgaria’s Svilhosa with Svetlana KIRYAKOVA, Mariela FILIPOVA FLOROVA and Marieta GEORGIEVA overcame Chorvatsky Grob from Slovakia. The winners will play in tomorrow’s final. So far Spartak is unbeaten at the Championships, whilst Bulgarian side recoreded there defeaits in group stages, all by 1:2.

In Men’s 40-49, Russia 1 with Sergei SAVELEV, Aleksandr SAVELEV and Georgii RUBINSHTEIN beat French Royan. They succeeded in all matches in straight matches. In the final Russia will play against Stockholm S-Blommor from Sweden with Lars MATTISON, Vahdin OKIC and Per MATTISON. Stocholm overcame Belgium’s Paulipo.

In Men’s 50-59 Russia 50-59 with Igor MIGALOV, Igor ROLDUGIN and Sergei MANTUROV overcame CTT Vilafranca to reach the ultimate stage. They also preserved straight record. In other semi final Russia’s Rodina with with Aleksandr ELINSON, Aleksei Rodin and Vladimir TUDVASEV beat Silinis team of Latvia.

In men 60-64 Spanish Sanse Coruna with Francisco Jose GONZALEZ, Luis GARCIA and Migue MALDONADO overcame CTM Fuengirola also from Spain. Karpaty of Ukraine with Grygory POTOPLYAK, Anatoli KOSTENKO and Zinovjy DEMKO beat Spanish Coslada.

In Men 65-69 Russia 2 with Gmyra, Kaplan GENNADY, Felix KAPLAN, Vladimir STOLNIKOV beat Catmad De Barcelona, whilst Spanish Assoc. VET. BCN with Juan REDON, Ricard PALAU and Jaume PUIG overcame Estonia. In this category final is already played. The winner is Russia. They beat Spanish team in straight matches.

In men 70-79 Nikolay BOLSHOV, Dmitry DAVYDENKO and Anatoliy ZUBRIN in team of Russia secured the final after victory over CTM El Alamo whilst Russia 70-74 with Evgeny TATAMIKOV, Victor VIRYASOV and Oleg SILITSKIY overcame Los Novatos from Spain
