After having successfully staged three previous editions of the Tournament, as well as now having successfully hosted “DHS Europe Cup – Tournament of Qualification for the World Cup” showcasing the Top 12 players in Europe, organizers announced the latest edition, once again in Lausanne.

“Every year we seek to continually improve the Tournament to allow all involved to better enjoy what’s on offer. Between the 23rd and the 25th of January 2015, the main updates and innovations will consist of the following points: The games will begin earlier than previously on the first day, Friday 23rd January. The new starting time will be 15:45. This change will eliminate the need of splitting up the programme on the second day, Saturday the 24th January,” said Nicolas IMHOF President of the Organizing Committee

The men’s competition (with 29 participants) will now be split up into groups of five, whereas the women (18 participants) will play in groups of four. “This will enable the maximum possible exposure for participants via the attractive number of games on offer to everyone. Only the best participants from each series can risk playing a limited number of games in order to directly participate in either the last sixteen or even the last eight, given the potential for automatic elimination from the series.“

Prize money totalling approximately 24.000 Euros, will be divided equally amongst the women’s and men’s competitions.
