When you play in „The Group of Dead”, you must be ready to die! But, SVS STROCK wasn’t ready for that last Monday!  The 2012 Women’s European Champions League runner-up managed to recover against actual no. 1 seed Fenerbahce after 0:2, in decisive match for its destiny in 2013/14 WECL season. Daniela DODEAN announced a big turn versus HU Melek in straight games, current individual European champion LI Fen levelled against Viktoria PAVLOVICH (3:1), and Petra LOVAS secured the win defeating CHING I-Cheng in amazing clash (3:2).

The match versus Istanbul was not a match, it was a battle. After 0:2 down – and all in our team knew exactly that our ECL-dreams would end with a loss –  we were almost ’dead’. Daniela DODEAN brought us back and opened the door to a sensational comeback”, speaks SVS STROCK`s manager Martin SOROS.

He emphasizes that “the spirit in the team is the most important fact in STROCK`s side. The girls and our coaches Aya UMEMURA supported by WSA-Star-Coach Tamara BOROS are doing a great job and we are still alive after this 3:2”.

Regarding to chances to reach semis from Group A after 4 out of six round (Berlin 3-1, Fenerbahce 2-2, STROCK 2-2, Metz 1-3), SOROS says: Still nothing new in our group. All clubs can go up, all teams can end the group on 4th place. This is the strongest ever ECL in history of European Women’s table tennis and all teams in our group would deserve to win the ECL this season.”

The next, 5th round will be very special one for SVS STROCK. The president explains: “The game versus Fenerbahce was the 99th match (ECL, ETTU-Cup, Superleague, National League) in history of SVS STRÖCK (founded in 2010). The match on 9th of December versus Metz TT will be the 100th in our history and we will try to celebrate a very special party, but we definitely will not underestimate Metz TT (especially after their victory over Berlin)”.
