The winners of ETTU Cup last season, Turkish champions, Fenerbahce victoriously started their premiere season in Women Champions League. SVS STRОCK in their third appearance in this competition failed to stop them.

Reigning European champion from Herning and winner of the singles title in 2010, Viktoria PAVLOVICH justified her place at the Old Continent and gave Istanbul’s team dream start. She failed to impose her rhythm at the very beginning of the game, but after shaky start against Daniela DODEAN Belarus star dominated. Romania’s player increased the pressure in fourth game, but not enough to stop PAVLOVICH.

CHENG I-Ching World’s no. 22 failed to preserve same course of the match. LI Fen leveled the match in very effective style, leaving her adversary only one game.

Another medal winner from the European Championships HU Melek, World’s no 38 brought hosts back in game. She overcame player ranked at position no. 64, one of biggest surprises of recent 2013 LIEBHERR World Championships at Paris, Tetyana BILENKO. BILENKO who reached Round of 16 at the World Championships lost in straight games, against motivated HU.

PAVLOVICH sealed the match in favor of host but not without fierce battle against LI Fen. Li stretched European champion to full distance to give guests a little hope, but Viktoria showed no mercy in closing stage of the duel.
