ITTF Partners with TIBHAR for 2018 Balkan Youth Table Tennis Championships
The ITTF is excited to broker a deal with TIBHAR to become the equipment sponsor for the 2018 Balkan Youth Table Tennis Championships to be held in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 6-10 June 2018.
The TIBHAR equipment sponsorship package will act as a legacy to assist the development of the sport in the Balkan Region, which ties in with the new ITTF Strategic Plan's aim to grow the sport of table tennis region by region around the globe.
Commenting on the deal, ITTF's CEO Steve DAINTON stated: "As our Marketing team expands and our sales increase, we are looking for new opportunities. When the Balkan Association approached us for equipment support as was traditionally provided to them, we put our marketing team to work and an agreement with TIBHAR was made. A huge thanks to TIBHAR for supporting this important development event in the Balkan region. We will consider for the future how we can further support this and other regions, especially as our growing marketing team looks for new opportunities".
TIBHAR General Manager Roland BERG stated: "TIBHAR is extremely proud to be the official equipment sponsor of the 2018 Balkan Youth Table Tennis Championships. The initiative that young sportsmen and sportswomen of the same age category can compete against one another in their region is very good and we believe that such tournaments are very important for table tennis in general but also for these regions. Based on a long tradition with other countries in the Balkan, it was obvious that we wanted to sponsor this tournament as well."
Borislav PEJAKOVIC, Technical Delegate of the Balkan Table Tennis Union added, "On behalf of the Balkan Table Tennis Union and its members, we would like to thank all the people from ITTF and TIBHAR whose hard work helped made it possible for the 26th Balkan Youth Table Tennis Championships be played with high quality equipment."
This TIBHAR deal is the latest marketing deal done by the ITTF in a successful 18 months period since taking its marketing rights back in house, which has resulted in a record level of marketing income. Recent deals done by the ITTF includes: British Airways, AIA Insurance, GoDaddy, Uncle Pop, 12BET and more.
