The ETTU site is able to offer our visitors a new online platform with sports statistic data and results from previous competitions, all at one place. After a year of building the platform, the results data collected for years and they are available to the visitors, fans, coaches, players, media etc. The project has been done by the ITTF and ETTU Competition Manager Dimosthenis MESSINIS who created the platform and the Ranking Committee Chairman Igor HELLER who provided him the results data. It can be reached at: http://results.ettu.site or directly from the ETTU site at the "Players/Ranking" section.
"ETTU is making history with this unique and easily accessible database. Although it is not fully finished yet, at this stage it is already possible to enjoy this brand-new service. Dimos and Igor have done a tremendous job. It provides a very efficient way to rapidly find data that many of us need or want to know. My congratulations!" stated ETTU President Ronald KRAMER.
Dimosthenis MESSINIS explained:
"Last year in Zagreb during the European Youth Championships, both Igor and I discussed about the need for a good results and statistics database of our sport at the web page. I explained him how it could be done, we agreed, and Igor provided me the results so I started to work on developing the website and the database," explained MESSINIS.
What we can find on this page now?
"We have results from the Team's and Individual Events from European Championships for seniors, youth categories, Under21, and Youth Top 10. At the moment we have the results from the European Championships 2008 until now, from European Youth Championships since 2010 and so far we had only one U21 Championships, since we had the first organized this year in Sochi. For the Youth Top 10 we have the results of the two previous years. With a few clicks someone can find results of his/her favourite player or even make selective searches like Head to Head! We have a special section for the statistics where everyone is able to see how many participants we had per country, event, and tournament in a very easy way. There is also a special section for presenting the rankings in an easier way than that we currently have in the ETTU website. With just few clicks someone will be able to see the ranking position and the ranking points of every ranked player in every age category on the same page and follow his/her progress during the year dynamically. There is no need to search for players in multiple pdf's because all are at one place! However this was the easier part. Our goal is to "feed" the system with more and more data. We are yet to "upload" the data from previous years. Most of them are still on paper in written form, so we need to digitalize and transform everything before it could be used on the system. This is only the beginning. The statistics offers endless opportunities and in time we will develop further this section."
