China to host clash of two strongest table tennis continents
ETTU and ATTU agreed on the 2017 Asia-Europe Challenge dates: Sunday 29th to Monday 30th October in China (city to be confirmed). It will be 13th edition of this traditional event and Asia leads 9:3.
Last year, in the Chinese city of Dongguan, Asia won 6:4, led by FAN Zhendong. Two years ago, European team went down in history, having its first ever victory on Asian soil, 6:4. Zhangjiagang, China. World and Olympic champion MA Long won both his encounters, but his side was beaten 6:4 by European team. Vladimir SAMSONOV, Marcos FREITAS, Robert GARDOS, Bastian STEGER and Andrej GACINA played for the winning side, coached by Richard PRAUSE.
Europe has two more wins. First one (6:5) was held in Istanbul, in 2009, and second (6:4) one in La Roche-sur-Yon, in 2012.
