Miguel ANGEL MACHADO re-elected President of the Royal Spanish Table Tennis Federation

Last weekend in Madrid Miguel Angel MACHADO was re-elected President of the Royal Spanish Table Tennis Federation. MACHADO 62 of 69 members of the Assembly supported his candidacy in the Spanish table tennis.

 

Miguel Ángel MACHADO, is 46 years old and is from Priego de Córdoba but he has been living in Málaga for 20 years. He came to the chair of Spanish table tennis in 2008 and is now starting his third term to end in 2020 after the Tokyo Olympic Games. MACHADO has been dedicated to table tennis for more than 25 years. He has been a player, club director and the Provincial Delegation of Cordoba. In addition to the presidency of the RFETM, Machado chairs the Ibero-American Federation of Table Tennis (FIBE), is a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and also of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Paralympic Committee.

 

The result of these elections makes clear the support with which he counts in the Spanish table tennis. In his third candidacy he has returned to be the only candidate who has managed to collect the number of supports necessary to qualify for the position and he has achieved 62 supports out of a total of 69, achieving in some sectors such as Athletes and Technicians 100%, and in others as clubs and territorial Federations figures above 90%.
