Then XU overcame FREITAS in four games to level at 2:2. Portuguese managed to reverse from 6:10 to 11:10 in the fourth set, but Chinese responded by three points in a row. These two players met sixth time in last six months (3-3 mutual score).

The ultimate clash confronted two Swedish players, 14-year-old talent Truls MOREGARDH and runner-up of recent 2016 Swedish Open Mattias KARLSSON who won in straight games.

BOGORIA GRODZISK MAZOWIECKI beat away TTC OSTRAVA 2016 repeating the same score as two months ago at home – 3:0. Singaporean GAO Ning overcame Aleksandar KARAKASEVIC in straight games of the opening clash, as first close set determined the whole match.

The 2012/13 TTCLM runner-up CHARTRES ASTT improved its score to 3-1 in the Group D, as they beat away KST ENERGA-MANEKIN TORUN 3:0. It was one of the fastest victories in the ongoing TTCLM season so far, bearing in mind that all three encounters were finished in straight games.
