Manager Enrique PEREZ explains how his side managed to reach ECLW semifinal after bad start of the season

When UCAM Cartagena lost 3:0 from SVNO STROCK in the opening 2015/16 ECLW round, nobody from Spanish side could imagine that they are capable to pass the group stage at least… But now, five months later, they are in the semifinal, after two victories against TT Saint Quentin (3:2 away, 3:0 at home).

“We have had a very exciting match against Saint Quentin, the club with which we have close ties of friendship. We are very pleased with our team classification for the ECLW semifinal. After the bad start in Austria the first game, we thought we would not get the rating, but our players led by SHEN Yanfei had a great reaction and achieved five straight wins”, stated Cartagena`s manager Enrique Perez

Spanish club will meet in the semifinal actual ETTU Cup winner KTS Spar-Zamek Tarnobrzeg. PEREZ stressed that Cartagena looks forward to these clashes.

“Our initial objective was to meet the competition to try to build a competitive team for the next session. Now we have a very tough opponent in the semifinal, which brings us good memories, because we played them two ends of ETTU Cup that we won.”
