In two opening duels in Women's ETTU Cup hosts were more successful. In the first leg of the quarterfinal SKST Mart Hodonin overcame Postas Sport Egyesulet whilst ALCL TT Grand Quevilly succeeded against Szekszard AC.

Unlike the duel in France, the match in Czech Republic kept supporters on the edge of their seats. Renata STRBIKOVA needed full five games to overcame Mercedesz NAGYVARADI with 10:12 in the decisive game. It was only LI Jioa who spare some energy with straight games victory over Lenka HARABASZOVA, whilst all three remaining matches concluded in thrilling five games. HARABASZOVA in last match beat NAGYVARADI by narrow margin. However the back bone of success was STRBIKOVA who overcame LI Jiao on her second return to the table.

Another Hungarian representative, Szekszard AC , also failed to produce victory against hosts. ALCL TT Grand Quevilly needed only three matches to finish the job.
