Five more months before the final Olympic Singles and Team Ranking



In accordance with the regulations of the Qualification System Document for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the monthly ITTF Olympic ranking list (Singles and Team) is published for information purpose.


The first list is now available and is based on the ITTF World Ranking List 2016 / No.1 (January 2016). You find it as a sub-section of the Ranking/Stats menu on the ITTF.com as well as on the Rio 2016 Olympic Games event page.

The May 2016 Olympic Singles and Team Rankings will be used for Olympic Ranking Qualification.


Here is the explanation for the Olympic rankings:


ITTF Olympic Singles Ranking


Listing only players who are eligible to represent their NOC at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games ("Olympic eligible").


The ranking shows ALL eligible players, but only give the ranking ordinate number only to the top 2 players from each NOC.
Players with 4 months inactivity are NOT listed as they cannot be considered for selection or qualification according to the Ranking regulations.
The May 2016 Olympic Singles Ranking will be used for Olympic Singles Ranking Qualification.

 


ITTF Olympic Team Ranking


Listing only players who are eligible to represent their NOC at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games ("Olympic eligible").


Taking into consideration the 3 highest rated Olympic eligible players per NOC.
Players with 4 months inactivity are included as they are considered for seeding purposes (same rule as for the World Team Ranking).
The May 2016 Olympic Team Ranking will be used for Olympic Team Qualification.
